Units of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) across Laguna continue to promote rehabilitation through income-generating activities for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). Participating units include those from Santa Rosa, Biรฑan, Cabuyao, Calamba, and Santa Cruz. These initiatives provide PDLs with skills training and opportunities to earn income while preparing them for reintegration into society.
On February 18, 2026, BJMP Laguna units held a pop-up exhibit at the University of Cabuyao (Pamantasan ng Cabuyao), showcasing handcrafted products made by PDLs. Featured items included paintings, painted bayong bags, mesh bags, hair clip beads, wallets, woodcraft holders, hand-painted canvas bags, and many more locally crafted items.
The University of Cabuyao expressed its full support for the initiative, recognizing its value in promoting rehabilitation and community engagement for PDLs. Through structured workshops in arts, crafts, and basic livelihood skills, BJMP helps PDLs hone their talents and skills, with proceeds from sales directly benefiting them and their families.
